HEIDI WAGNER (NL) TREE COZY | ONGOING SUN TO SAT AUG 15-21
Bannerman Park
Heidi Wagner will wrap trees at Bannerman Park during the 24HAM Festival with textiles made of traditional and non traditional materials. Everyone can help and are invited to install pieces as well. She provides approximate sizes of trees if people want to make their pieces in advance and then come install. She will be present installing in Bannerman Park from 1-2pm every day.
Heidi Wagner really likes working with textiles; it gives her great pleasure to create innovative fabrics mixed with other mediums such as acrylic paint, pencil, charcoal, and found objects. She tends to develop strong pieces that can lean towards fragility or express sensuality. She enjoys trying new techniques and finding different ways to sculpt with textiles, to create new tactile forms; making objects from thread alone, or sculpting with seaweed is more than satisfying. It is pleasurable to all senses, challenging, thoughtful, considered, and truly exciting. She has always been sensitive and aware of the practice of art from a very early age. It has infinite possibilities of capturing and expressing through images and colours of any medium you choose. It provides a certain quality of conversation and ideas that allows you to communicate without any of these words. It is what she loves to do.
